Pontiac was an American automotive manufacturer. Originally created to be a companion to GM's Oakland Motor Car Company, Pontiac soon surpassed Oakland and became a GM staple. Pontiac was crafted to be the performance division of GM. The company built notable models such as the Star Chief, Bonneville, GTO, and Firebird. Due to financial problems and corporate restructuring, GM stopped building Pontiac branded cars in 2010, putting the make on hiatus.
