The Volvo 123GT "Grand Turismo" was a high-performance variant of the Amazon series, available as a 2 door-coupe, was first offered in 1967 and lasted until 1970. It featured several upgrades over the standard models such as fully reclining seats, front fog and driving lights, an alternator, a unique steering wheel and a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive were among its other features. Better performance was achieved by the Volvo P1800's high-compression B18B engine, which was fitted to the 123GT.
