Availalble between 1986 and 1989, the Toyota MR2 - Base Model - Automatic was a variant of the 1st generation (W10) MR2 introduced along the more common 5-speed Manual version. The Toyota MR2 was powered by the Toyota 4A-GE 1,587 cc (1.6 L) inline-four engine, capable of 112 hp in the US (or 128 hp for the UK version), driving power to the rear via a 4-speed automatic transmission. Most early MR2's had fixed roofs (Coupe) with a removable sunroof. Later in production, a T-top option became available.
