Unveiled in 2010 for its fifth generation, the Toyota 4Runner has become a staple in the line of rugged off-road vehicles from the Japanese manufacturer. By 2015 the vehicle was available in 4 different variants, the SR5, Trail, and Limited, treated here as Standard Variants, and the off-road thremed 4Runner TRD Pro. The Pro variant was the most rugged of the series featuring a number of mechanical systems to aid with treacherous road conditions, such as the Downhill Assist Control (DAC) and Crawl Control (CRAWL). This generation 4 Runner was powered by a 2.7L inline four or more commonly with the 4.0L V6 (1GR-FE) engine. In 2014 the 4Runner was given an update inside and out and is now presented with the Optitron instrument panel and exterior modifications.
