The Subaru Rex was a series of microcars introduced for the 1973 model year. The Rex was initially sold as a rear engined, rear wheel drive car, yet in 1981, Subaru began producing the Rex as a front engined, front or all wheel drive car. Subaru produced the Rex in three generations: 1st Gen (1973-1981), 2nd Gen (1982-1986), and 3rd Gen (1987-1992). Depending on the market, the Rex was sold under names such as Fiori, Ace, Mini Jumbo, Sherpa, and Viki. Production of the Subaru Rex lasted until 1992.
