Studebaker introduced their third generation of President in 1941. The third generation saw improvements all around the car, with updated styling, as well as a raft of new luxuries including a sliding roof, automatic starter, and even a hill start anti-rollback system. Only two body styles were offered, a roadster and sedan, which were only available with inline eight engines. This short lived generation ended production 1942 due to the outbreak of WW2. Studebaker would not use the President name again until 1955, when the Fourth Generation President debuted.
