The Sterling Motor Truck Company was an American automotive manufacturer that was founded in 1906. Sterling Motor Truck Company was originally established by William Sternberg as the Sternberg Motor Truck Company, but a name change before World War 1 saw the company take on the Sterling name. Over numerous decades, the company built a wide range of commercial and military trucks, before it was purchased by the White Motor Company, who retired the Sterling name in 1953. In 1997, the name was revived as a commercial truck brand by Freightliner until 2009, when it was retired again.
