Skoda is a Czech automotive manufacturer that traces its roots to 1895. Originally founded as Laurin & Klement, the company began life as a bicycle repair shop, before turning their attention to motorcycle, and then automotive manufacturing. After WW1, Skoda Works, which had been an arms manufacturer, expanded its operations, acquiring Laurin & Klement in 1925. Since then, the company has gone through numerous ownership and corporate changes, now operating as part of the Volkswagen Group. Skoda has built a wide range of automobiles, including various car and truck models.
