Simson was a German manufacturer that was founded in 1856. The company was originally an arms manufacturer, but it eventually turned into a bicycle, automotive, and motorcycle builder as well. Simson built a few automotive offerings, most notably the Simson-Supra, but the company was best known for its two-wheeled exploits. Well known motorcycles such as the AWO 425, Eskorte, and the SR 2E eventually gave way to a range of scooters and mopeds before the company eventually folded in 2002.
