SEAT's name stands for 'Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo,' which in Spanish translates to Spanish Tourism Automobile Society. Originally established and operated as a state-owned company, SEAT went public in 1986, and are currently owned by the Volkswagen Group. Over the years, the company has built various notable models such as the 600D, the Ibiza, the Cupra and the Leon.
