The Renault 8 Gordini was a high performance version of the Renault 8. Introduced in 1964, the 8 Gordini saw numerous improvements to the chassis, drivetrain, and engine. Most of the modifications were done under the supervision of André Gordini, who was known at Renault as the wizard for his abilities to extract performance from cars. Initially, the 8 Gordini was fitted with a 1108cc inline four engine, but in 1966, the model saw a facelift, and the introduction of a 1255cc inline four unit. The Renault 8 Gordini was built until 1969.
