Introduced in 1947, the Renault 4CV was a series of economy supermini cars offered in three body styles. The 4CV was offered as a rear engined four door hatchback, four door cabriolet, or four door panel van. Notably, the front doors on 4CV cars were suicide style, while the rears were front hinged. Initially, the 4CV was fitted with a 760cc inline four engine, but in 1950, a smaller 747cc inline four unit became standard. The most notable 4CV variant was the Beach Wagon, a limited run of 50 leisure focused cars much like the Fiat 600 Jolly. Production of the Renault 4CV lasted until 1961.
