The 2.2L Porsche 911E Coupe was the hardtop version of the 911E for the 1970 and 1971 model years. As with the T and S variants, Porsche would upgrade the 911E to a larger 2.2 liter engine. The 2.2L engine in the 911E Coupe, Type 911/01 or Type 911/04 with Sportomatic, featured mechanical fuel injection (“E” denotes 'Einspritzung', being German for “injection”), and was rated at 155 hp. For model year 1972, the 2.2L 911E Coupe was replaced by the 2.4L 911E Coupe.
