The third generation of Pontiac Tempest was introduced for the 1968 model year. The third generation of Tempest saw the model maintain its Base, Custom, LeMans trim structure, but for 1969, the Tempest Custom became its own model known as the Custom S. The third generation Tempest was offered in a variety of body styles and was in production until 1970.
