The first car produced by Polestar is the Polestar 1, which first debuted for the 2020 model year. The two-door sports coupe is a hybrid, high-performance vehicle. The vehicle's powertrain consists of a front-mounted, four-cylinder, twin-turbocharged gas engine, while two electric motors drive the rear wheels. Together the power trio generates 600hp and 1,000lb.ft of torque delivered to all wheels. The body was created from carbon fiber to keep the car light and increase speed. Polestar 1 only saw a few years of production, with 1500 examples built by 2022.
