Polestar is a Swedish company started in 1996 by the racing team Polestar and is partnered with Volvo. Volvo took complete control in 2015. Chinese auto manufacturer Geely owns Volvo. Therefore all Polestar cars are produced in China. In 2017 they released their first production model, the Polestar 1, a coupe, and in 2019 the Polestar 2, an EV. Polestar claims three new models will be introduced in 2022.
