The first generation of Plymouth Barracuda was introduced for the 1964 model year. The Barracuda was originally based on the Plymouth Valiant, and was available as a fastback coupe. The first generation Barracuda was offered with a range of slant six and V8 engines, and was produced until 1966. The first generation Barracuda was replaced by the Second Generation Plymouth Barracuda.
