The second generation of Packard Standard Eight was introduced for the 1948 model year. The second generation of Standard Eight was created when the Packard Clipper range was renamed. This new generation of Standard Eight was available as a sedan, coupe, or "wooden" station wagon, and was fitted with a 4.7L inline eight engine. Production of the Standard Eight ended in 1950, when the model shifted to the Packard 200.
