As the successor to the 520 and 521, the Datsun 620 was introduced in 1972. It was occasionally referred to in the American market as the "Lil' Hustler," a name used in advertising. Otherwise, it was officially just the Datsun Truck or 620. In 1977, the Datsun 620 became the first compact truck to offer a an extended cab with room for tools or even more people behind the front seat — this was called the King Cab. The 620 was succeeded by the Datsun 720 in 1980.
