The Mitsubishi Eclipse GS was a variant of the Second Generation Eclipse that debuted for the 1995 model year. The GS, which stands for Grand Sport, was built in coupe and convertible (Spyder) body styles. The GS coupe was powered by a Chrysler 420a engine, which was a 140hp 2.0L inline four, while the Spyder was equipped with Mitsubishi's 4G64 engine, which was a 2.4L inline four. Both engines were available with a 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic gearbox, with both options sending drive to the rear wheels. Production of the 2nd Gen Mitsubishi Eclipse GS lasted until 1999.
