The seventh and final generation of Mercury Monterey was introduced for the 1969 model year. The seventh generation Monterey saw the Mercury Montclair merge with the Monterey, creating the Monterey Custom trim level. The seventh generation Monterey was offered as a coupe, convertible, sedan, and station wagon, and featured a range of V8 engine options. Production of the Mercury Monterey ended in 1974, when Mercury expanded the Marquis.
