Mercury Marquis - 3rd Gen (1979 to 1982)

The third generation of Mercury Marquis was introduced for the 1979 model year. The third generation Marquis saw the model downsize into the mid-size segment, with the Mercury Grand Marquis becoming the full size flagship model. This new generation of Marquis was available as a two or four door sedan or a station wagon, and was powered by a 4.9L or 5.8L V8 engine. Production of the third generation Marquis ended in 1982 and was replaced by the Fourth Generation Mercury Marquis.
