After the end of Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren production ended in early 2010, Mclaren's MSO division (McLaren Special Operations) introduced a special customization program that would convert any SLR into a McLaren Edition. Just 25 of these cars were built, of which 19 were coupes and 6 were roadsters. The SLR Mclaren Edition was given special bespoke bodywork, as well as an updated interior to help differentiate it from other SLRs. In addition to the aesthetic changes, the suspension, steering, and exhaust received upgrades as well. Although the McLaren Edition's were created between 2011 and 2013, these cars were built using an existing SLR with model years ranging from 2005 to 2010.
