The Mercedes-Benz SLK200 Kompressor was a variant of the R171 SLK-Class that was introduced for the 2005 model year. The SLK 200 Kompressor was one of the R171's entry level variants, featuring Mercedes' M271 KE18ML engine. This supercharged 1.8L inline four engine originally generated 161hp, but revisions for 2009 raised output to 181hp. This power was sent to the rear wheels via a 6 speed manual or 5 speed automatic transmission. Production of the SLK200 Kompressor lasted until 2011, when the model series was discontinued.
