The Mercedes-Benz 300SL was a variant of the R129 SL-Class that was introduced in 1990. The 300 SL was powered by Mercedes' M103 3.0L inline six engine engine, which sent 188hp to the rear wheels via a 5 speed manual or automatic transmission. In 1993, Mercedes changed their naming conventions across all models, moving the model letters (SL) before the engine displacement (300), resulting in the 300SL becoming the SL300. Production of the R129 300SL lasted until 1993, when the model series was replaced by the R129 Mercedes-Benz SL 320.
