The Mercedes-Benz 450SLC was a variant of the R107/C107 SL-Class that debuted in 1971. The 450SLC was offered in a two door coupe body style that was powered by a naturally aspirated 4.5L V8 engine. As was commonplace with the R107 SL-Class, North American examples were given a less powerful engine due to emissions regulations. European examples generated 214hp, while North American versions had an output of 190hp. Both manual and automatic transmissions were available, but the majority of cars were equipped with automatic gearboxes (No manuals were sold in North America). Production of the R107 Mercedes-Benz 450SLC ended in 1980.
