The Mercedes-Benz 250C was a variant of the W114 Coupe that was introduced for the 1970 model year. The 250 C was initially offered with two engines, the M114.920 engine, which was a 2.5L inline six that generated 130hp, and the M130.923, which was a 130hp unit only offered in North America due to emissions regulations. The M130.923 engine became the only offered from mid 1972, although production of the 250C saw limited numbers due to the introduction of the 280C and 280CE. A total of 20,592 examples were built before the end of production in 1976.
