The Mercedes-Benz CLK500 Convertible was the open top variant of the W209 CLK500. Introduced for the 2004 model year, the CLK 500 convertible was powered by Mercedes' M113 E50 engine, which was a 5.0L V8. This powerplant generated 302hp which was sent to the rear wheels via a 5 speed automatic transmission. Production of the CLK 500 ended in 2006, when the CLK received a facelift as well as new engines, resulting in the the CLK500 being replaced by the the W209 Mercedes-Benz CLK550.
