The CLK320 was one of two model series carried over from the First Generation W208 CLK into the Second Generation W209 CLK. The W209 CLK 320 was introduced for the 2003 model year. For 2003, only the Coupe body style was offered, but in 2004, a Convertible was added. The CLK320 was powered by Mercedes' M112 E32 engine, paired to an automatic transmission which sent drive to the rear wheels. This 3.2L V6 engine received tuning from Mercedes, increasing power to 215hp over the previous generation. Production of the CLK320 ended in 2005, when Mercedes gave the CLK a facelift as well as a range of new engines. The CLK320 was given a larger, 3.5L engine, and renamed the CLK350.
