The CLK 200 Kompressor was one of the first variants of the W208 Mercedes-Benz CLK to be introduced. Debuting for the 1998 model year, the CLK 200 Kompressor was offered in coupe or convertible body styles, and were powered by a 2.0L supercharged inline four engine. This 192hp engine was paired to a 5 speed manual or automatic transmission option, sending power to the rear wheels. Production of the CLK 200 Kompressor ended in 2002, but the convertible remained in production until 2003.
