The engine was paired to a manual gearbox that sent power to the rear wheels and was capable of carrying a one-ton payload. Later in 1962, a additional variant was released; the cabin was extended by 3.1in. and it had a stretched body and wheelbase.The 1st Gen ended production in 1965 when it was replaced by the 2nd Gen Mazda B-Series.
