The Maybach 62 was an ultra luxury sedan first introduced in 2003. Built using a Mercedes W140 platform, the 62 (and 57), were the first Maybach cars since the brand was purchased by Daimler AG. The Maybach 62 was one of two models introduced in 2003 alongside the Maybach 57. These luxury cars each had its own purpose, and the 62's was to be driven by a chauffeur, with the owner transported in absolute luxury and comfort. The 62 was powered by a 5.5L V12 engine, while the later 62S variant was powered by a 6.0L V12 engine. While inteneded to compete with brands such as Rolls-Royce, the Maybach 62 was not received as well as anticipated, with sales well below expectations. The Maybach 62 was built until 2012.
