The Maybach 57 was an ultra luxury sedan first introduced in 2003. Built using a Mercedes W140 platform, the 57 (and 62), were the first Maybach cars since the brand was purchased by Daimler AG. The Maybach 57 was one of two models introduced in 2003 alongside the Maybach 62. These luxury cars each had its own purpose, and the 57's was to be driven by the owner, providing a luxurious and refined driving experience. The 57 was powered by a 5.5L V12 engine, while the later 57S variant was powered by a 6.0L V12 engine. While inteneded to compete with brands such as Rolls-Royce, the Maybach 57 was not received as well as anticipated, with sales well below expectations. The Maybach 57 was built until 2012.
