The Lotus 19 - Monte Carlo was a mid-engined sportscar designed by Colin Chapman and built between 1960 and 1962. It was built on the Lotus 18 platform and was intended for use by Lotus in sports car racing. Named after Stirling Moss's first Lotus victory in Monte Carlo in 1960, the Lotus 19 proved to be a successful machine built to take on giants like Ferraris, Jaguars and V8 Chevys and Buicks. A total of 17 cars were built and the most notable race wins include the 1961 Canadian Grand Prix, the 1962 Daytona 3 hours, the 1962 Nassau Trophy Race, and the 1964 Australian Tourist Trophy.
