Lola has built a very strong name at the famous Indianapolis 500 by being present since the 1960’s, having renowned drivers along the years such as Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart, Mario Andretti and the Unser family. Lola was very focused in the Indy/CART racing series; so much that it pushed March Engineering out of the series by 1991. The fiercest rival then became Reynard, but due to financial troubles it had to withdraw from Indy/CART by 2003; leaving Lola as the sole manufacturer up to 2007. It had great success for several decades by pairing with different engine manufacturers such as Chevrolet, Ford/Cosworth, Toyota, Honda, Buick and Mercedes-Benz; clinching 3 Indy 500 victories and 11 Indy/CART.
