Available as a coupe or sedan, the sixth generation Continental saw the model downsize due to impending federal fuel regulations. The sixth generation Lincoln Continental was available with a V8 engine and was only offered for the 1980 model year, when it was replaced by the Seventh Generation Lincoln Continental.
