The first generation of Lexus SC was introduced for the 1992 model year. Known as the Z30, the first generation Lexus SC was based on the third generation Toyota Soarer, but with more luxurious fittings and a different range of engines. The two variants of the first generation Lexus SC were the SC300 and the SC400. Built until 2000, the first generation Z30 was replaced by the second generation Lexus SC Z40 for the 2001 model year.
