The Lamborghini Diablo SV was first introduced in 1995. The SV name was revived for the Diablo, originally debuting on the Miura SV (Super Veloce). The Diablo SV was produced in two generations, the First Generation from 1995-1998, and the second produced exclusively in 1999. During production of the Second Generation, the SV replaced the Base Model as the "entry-level" Diablo. Both generations had features to distinguish them from other variants, yet the SV is the only Diablo featuring the distinctive and well known "SV" decal on the flanks as a factory option. All Diablo SVs featured Lamborghini's 5.7L V12 with power going to the back wheels.
