Introduced in 2006, the Koenigsegg CCX bore a striking resemblance to its predecessor the CCR, yet the CCX was modified externally and mechanically to meet U.S. regulations. The CCX sported a Koenigsegg-built V8 that was twin-supercharged and generated 806hp through a 6-speed manual or sequential gearbox to the rear wheels. The company built several variants of the limited production car, including the CCX Edition, CCXR, CCXR Edition, and CCXR Special Edition. Only 48 CCX cars were built, including its variants. It was replaced in 2010 by the Agera.
