The Hudson Hornet was introduced for the 1951 model year. The first generation of Hornet was offered in a range of body styles, including coupe, sedan, hardtop, and convertible. While all Hornets were fitted with a 5.0L (308 cu in) inline six engine, power output depended on the configuration of the carburetors. Production of the first generation Hornet lasted until 1954, when it was replaced by the Second Generation Hudson Hornet.
