The GMC Typhoon was the high performance, limited production SUV that was introduced for the 1992 model year. Largely a 2 door SUV version of the GMC Syclone, the Typhoon was powered by a turbocharged 4.3L V6 engine that delivered 280hp to the rear wheels through a 4 speed automatic transmission. Unlike the Syclone pickup truck which was only offered in black, the Typhoon was offered a variety of colors. Production of the GMC Typhoon ended in 1993, with a total of 4,697 examples built.
