The eighth and final generation of GMC Suburban was introduced for the 1992 model year. The eighth generation Suburban was offered as a rear or four wheel drive SUV, and was an upmarket version of the Chevrolet Suburban. All vehicles built during this generation were fitted with V8 engine options. Production of the GMC Suburban ended in 1999, and the model was replaced by the GMC Yukon XL.
