Ford Shelby Mustang GT500KR - S-197 I (2008 to 2009)

The Ford Shelby Mustang GT500KR was a special high performance variant of the S-197 I Shelby Mustang that debuted for the 2008 model year. Invoking the legendary 1968 Shelby Mustang GT500KR, this new 'King of the Road' was only available in a coupe body style, and was powered by a 5.4L supercharged V8 engine. This engine received various upgrades including intercooling and new tuning that saw an output of 540hp and 510 lb ft of torque drive the rear wheels via a 6 speed manual transmission. Although 1,571 examples of the 2nd Gen GT500KR were created for the US market (echoing the original GT500KR's 1,571 examples), a total of 1,712 vehicles were built worldwide. It was succeeded by the 2020 to 2022 GT500KR.
