The Ford Mustang GT Daytona 500 Pace Car was a limited edition variant of the S-197 II Mustang GT that was only available for the 2011 model year. Built exclusively in a coupe body style, these Race Red painted cars were powered by Ford's 5.0L Coyote V8 engine, generating 412hp. Drive from the engine is sent to the rear wheels through a 6 speed manual transmission. In addition to the attention grabbing red paint, these cars featured unique Pace Car graphics, a glass roof, as well as special interior appointments, including distinct door sill plates. For increased performance, Ford Racing suspension, mufflers, and a strut tower brace were also added. Only 50 examples of the 2011 Ford Mustang GT Daytona 500 Pace Car were produced.
