The fifth generation of the Ford Fiesta debuted for the 2003 model year. Known as the Mk5 Fiesta, this generation was predominantly offered in a hatchback or sedan body style. A wide range of inline four engines was available for the Mk5, ranging from 1.25L to 2.0L, and including two diesel options. The most notable Mk5 variant was the ST500, which was only available in 2008. Production of the Mk5 Fiesta ended in 2008, when it was replaced by the Mk6 Ford Fiesta.
