The second generation of the Ford Expedition debuted for the 2003 model year. These full-size SUVs were offered in a four door body, with both rear and all wheel drive versions. A 4.6L V8 engine was standard, while a 5.4L V8 was offered as an option, until 2005, when the 5.4L became the only available powerplant. Regardless of engine, a 4 speed automatic transmission was the only available gearbox. Variants offered included the XLS, XLT, and Eddie Bauer. Production of the 2nd Gen Expedition ended in 2006 when it was replaced by the 3rd Gen Ford Expedition.
