The Ferrari LaFerrari is a limited production hypercar that debuted for the 2013 model year. The LaFerrari, which means "The Ferrari" in Italian, is named as such in order to emphasize the definitive nature of the car. These cars are the first Ferraris to be built as hybrids, featuring an electric engine paired to a mid-mounted 6.3L V12 engine combining to produce a staggering 950hp. This power is sent the rear wheels through a 7 speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The LaFerrari was created to be the brand's flagship model, displaying a range of high end technologies developed through Ferrari's participation in Formula 1. The combination of the mighty hybrid powerplant, lightweight carbon fiber construction, and numerous dynamic technologies combined to give the LaFerrari mind-boggling performance both on and off the track. Just 710 examples of the Ferrari LaFerrari were produced, 500 of which were LaFerrari Coupes, and the other 210 being semi-convertibles known as the LaFerrari Aperta.
