The Ferrari F430 GTC is a race car based on the road-legal F430. The 430 GTC began production in 2006 as a replacement for the 360 GTC. The name GTC indicates that the 430 was built for the racing class known as GT2 (GTE). The exterior of the car features a new front bumper and rear wing. The GTC was given an aluminum body and frame. To meet the GT2 class engine regulations, the 90-degree V8 was de-stroked from 4.2L to 4.0L. The 430 has a mid-rear mounted engine that sends power through a six-speed sequential automatic gearbox to the rear wheels. It makes 440hp combined with a weight of just under 2500lbs. Ferrari replaced the car with the 458 Italia GT2.
