Evante Cars Ltd was a British automotive manufacturer that was founded in 1983. Evante was spun off from famed racing engine manufacturer, Vegantune, when the company decided to build their own car. Known as the Evante, these sports cars were designed after the Lotus Elan, and featured power from Vegantune-tuned inline four engines. Power from the engines drove the rear wheels through a 5 speed manual transmission. The Evante was available as a kit car or completed car, and was in production until 1991, when the model was discontinued. A brief attempt to continue production ended in 1994, with just 9 examples built by Fleur De Lys, who had bought the rights to the Evante.
