The Dodge Spacevan was a series of vans that were introduced for the 1977 model year. The Spacevan was born when Chrysler acquired the Rootes group, who at the time owned the commercial automaker Commer. Commer had a model known as the Spacevan, and it was this model that was renamed the Dodge Spacevan. These vans were offered with a front mounted 1750cc inline four engine that was paired to manual or automatic transmission options. Production of the Dodge Spacevan continued until 1983.
